Fundraising

Topic overview

Fundraising is one of the most important things in yearbook production. In most cases, students usually pay for the yearbook at cost price–however, there are methods of getting the yearbook committee some money so that production costs even out.

Networking

When you begin to think about whom you will fundraise to, begin by thinking of all the people in your community who have a connection to your school. People give most freely when they feel they have a personal connection with you or your fundraising initiative. People support school fundraising when they feel that their contribution will make a difference, so remember to promote to your fundraising team the value of their yearbook. People further support school fundraising when they see a direct benefit back to them. Businesses that sell to your school, or who sell primarily to the youth market will have a direct benefit from advertising in your yearbook.
